3M Cold Shrink Tubes in the 8420 Series are a range of open-ended, EPDM Rubber cold shrinkable tubes, offering an ideal alternative to heatshrink and do not need heat, special tools, mastics or tapes to install but provide a watertight seal that will retain its pressure even after years of exposure. 3M Cold Shrink Tubes are expanded onto a removable during manufacture and have been designed for fast and simple field installation in the pre-stretched condition. The core of the cold shrinkable tube is easily and effortlessly removed by hand after the tube has been positioned for installation over an inline connection, terminal lug, etc. This allows the tube to shrink down over the connection creating a waterproof seal which is resistant to acids, alkalis, fungus, ozone and Ultraviolet light. The 3M 8420 Series Cold Shrink Tube is constructed from EPDM rubber, containing absolutely no chlorides or sulphurs. 3M Cold Shrink Tubes are ideal for installation in areas where hot work permits are difficult to obtain.
