3M Scotch ® 13 Self Amalgamating Tape is a 0.762mm thick, highly conformable, semi-conducting EPR based high voltage splicing tape. This soft, black Ethylene Propylene Rubber Self Amalgamating tape is non-vulcanising and shelf stable, with stable conductivity over a wide temperature range. 3M Scotch ® 13 Self Amalgamating Tape conductivity is not effected except by low-viscosity oils. Also conductivity of cable semi-conducting jackets is not affected by 3M Scotch ® 13 Self Amalgamating Tape.

  • Remains stable at 130ºC and is non-vulcanising

  • Elongates easily to form irregular shape

  • Resists cracking, solvents, U.V and moisture

  • Tape and liner boldly printed to distinguish from insulation tape

  • Meets requirements of ADTM-D4388, Type IV

  • Meets requirements of ADTM-D4388, Type IV

  • To electrically round out high-voltage connectors and to bond to insulating materials to minimise electrical stresses

  • Continue semi-conducting strand shielding found in solid dielectric (polyethylene, XLPE, EPR, etc.) cables at 5kV and above

  • Provide shielding for cable joints on solid dielectric insulated power cables (shielded or concentric neutral)

  • Replace semi-conducting layer beneath metallic shield of similar cables in case of damage (screening)

  • Make conductive portion of stress cone of power cable termination on solid dielectric insulated power cables
